It is official, we have a bunch of odd kids.
As in their ages. Actually they are all rather odd, but they are also 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.
So nice and simple to have their ages perfectly odd.
Little One can walk, says 'mamum' (that means momma's milk-not me), and 'ha' (meaning hi) along with the sound an elephant makes. She can also find someone else's nose, and put her hands on her head. Sometimes she says a few other things, but not very consistently. The sign for 'fan' (meaning twirl your hand while reaching up) is apparently important to her, along with the 'gimme grab'. Long and lean, she is still pretty little, fitting clothes I know her big sister wore at 6 months! Somewhat like a fish in the water, she is not afraid to put her face in or push away from us to try and swim.
Baby Girl is learning to read, can mostly pronounce the words, though she still has to be reminded to use a hard c and the l sound when talking. She can mostly count to 20, but really doesn't get adding at all. She is tall and solid, though she is starting to lose the 'toddler' look about her. She is also absolutely beautiful with big blue green eyes, and wavy brown hair. This is the first year she has been rather independent in the pool hanging on a noodle.
Little Man is working on multiplication, writing lowercase g's and keeping up with his big brother in everything he can. This marks his first year as a Tiger Cub Scout, and he is so ready for it! He read the Tiger book on the way home from his induction and memorized the law and promise his first week! My only baby who still has proper blue eyes, he keeps his wavy blond hair long. His height and shoe size are creeping up on his big sister! At the pool he manages to swim about half way across before flipping to his back for a floating rest. Not bad since he only swims in summer.
Princess has been focusing on memorizing those multiplication tables, beautiful handwriting (the best in the house) and filling every last spot on her girl scout uniform with patches earned. Tall with long super curly brown hair, and brown eyes, she amazes me all the time with how grown up she is! (and then in the next second how much a kid she still is!) Her form is the best of the lot, but not quite strong enough to do more than one full lap in the pool.
Dude is TALL! OK I can't say that enough, he is almost at my shoulder! Which considering it was just the other day I was leaning sideways to hold his hand says a LOT. I don't know how he got that tall. I also don't know how he got to the point of being considerate and responsible in so many things, like holding doors, or saying 'thank you' without prompting (not always but at least once a week). He is still working on algebra, and putting periods at the end of his sentences. His super curly blond hair tops off his freckled face and grey blue eyes perfectly. This marks his final year of cub scouts. While he has no form in the pool, he is strong enough to swim half a dozen laps, and fast enough to beat me!
Great to hear all about the kids. Looking forward to the party and coming to see how they swim
ReplyDeleteI love the working on algebra and periods part!! Your children are breathlessly beautiful and brilliant polite and awesome. I love them so much it takes my breath away. I so wish I could be there to play games, sew, learn about dinosaurs, be read to and cuddle all the time!
