Daddy's Story

Princess gave Daddy a homemade card that says "I love You"  and had space for him to write a story.

Daddy being the wonderful amazing man he is, took up the challenge and penned a cute story in a few moments.

Once upon a time, there was a Pirate Captain.  For his birthday his crew built him a little ship just big enough for the seven of them.  They sailed for days in their little ship until they came to an island that was not on any of their maps.  The island had many beautiful waterfalls, large ponds of clear water to swim in, streams of ice cold water to drink, many fruit trees to eat, and a huge herd of beef cattle.

On the other side of a huge clearing there was a small forest of tall trees and two large clumps of bamboo.  While the captain took a nap, the crew cut down the trees and were amazed at how easily the logs split.  It was so easy in fact that when the Captain woke up they had nearly finished building the frame for a huge log mansion.  They would need a bit more work to finish it, but they could sleep in bamboo beds with soft feather pillows from some of the large tropical birds.  They ate mangoes, steak, and potatoes with pineapple juice to drink.

The crew filled the house with furniture and tools to make them comfortable and their work easy.  They Captain built barns for the cattle and hutches for the chickens.  They found beautiful rocks to make jewelry and decorations from.  They worked in the cool mornings, swam in the hot afternoons and relaxed in the evenings.

With all that this island had to offer the Pirate family had everything that they could ever want.   Some of the crew enjoyed the life, others enjoyed the great food.  Still another said that all of the comfort around them was best.  But the Pirate Captain knew what was indeed the best part of the island.  He knew that having his family with him was the reason that the island was truly paradise!

I saved it, and typed it here to share, because I love that my husband would sit down and write up a story, that perfectly fits in the space she provided, on his own birthday.
