In general she is a wonderful helper with the house and her younger siblings, though sometimes she might as well be a younger kid. When we first had Little One she thought she wanted to change diapers in addition to the other helps, now that she has done a few, she thinks some things are better left to parents!
We can always count on her to play with Baby Girl. Most of the time this is great, other times we need Little Man to occupy Baby Girl and Princess to do 'real' work. Of the two older ones, only Princess has figured out how to hold Little One comfortably. which is good since when we are out and I need to take all three girls to the potty, I can have her hold Little One so I get to use it empty handed (such a luxury!)
While the boys are eager for every second of screen time, or even board game time, Princess is more interested in drawing. She will spend hours drawing a princess, or a bunny. or some other small creature. While she has little patience for math problems, or writing, she can spend hours reading about people. She is often the only kid who really listens to the stories we read. The boys make a half effort and at least 'pass' but she tends to know just who is doing what to whom, though she shares my difficulty with names. (her narrations tend to be 'that little girl the one who makes the rolls, she was doing this with the other boy, no not that boy the one who built the thingie'.)
Princess also loves singing. She had tried out piano, but didn't seem to enjoy it much, so we let her quit, though we told her she would have to work on timing and learning notes eventually. She decided she wanted to learn recorder and since Daddy is good enough at that to teach her the basics they have played with it on and off. Mostly though she wants to sing. She would sing all day long morning to night if we let her, but sometimes you just have to have a little silence.
In scouts she has acquired 12 Try-its that have been awarded, and has 7 others she will get at her next court of awards. She loves to do about 3 things for each badge, then I have to insist she do one more just to get the thing done! She also has plenty of fun patches. Though sadly I haven't sewn most to her sash.
She thinks embroidery is fun, but finds hand sewing is too much work. I think I shall borrow a machine to see how she likes machine sewing, she is crafty enough I think she would love it. If I had a slightly larger house I would acquire a machine myself, but here there really is no room for anything of the sort here.
We signed her up for an inexpensive art class since she obviously enjoys that sort of thing. I haven't seen most of the work, but what I have seen doesn't look challenging for her, though she does enjoy it. I am not sure enjoyment is worth the travel time.
I do know that since she loves drawing so much we have an easy Christmas present, good drawing paper. We might even look into good colored pencils, now that I know how much better good pencils are.
Wonderful and when the time comes, I know how she can "acquire" a sewing machine! Can't wait to teach her to knit and crochet too. maybe even spin and weave.
