Whatever you call it we are gearing up for:
Girl Scouts. I love my leaders, the girl scout year is really not much work for me. I have some minor paperwork to do in prep, and I have plenty of sitting outside the room collecting parent signatures. It would be a super easy task for an organized person...for me not so much. But it is the way I can help the troop the best I guess.
Princess is excited about all the fun try-its they will be doing as a troop, and just plain excited to spend time with her friends. So far we know there will be:
trip to Aw shucks
Lock in at Discovery place
Veterans Parade
Class at Reedy creek
Holiday service project
Two spring camps (one district, one troop level)
And I am sure plenty more. Will have full calender by the 14th
Cub Scouts: While I do have wonderful leaders here, I also have more work to do. Mostly of the paperwork variety and some in recruiting leaders and planning meetings with my husband. He does the actual meetings, I do the paperwork and prep. (thank goodness, can you imagine a room full of boys ages 7-10?)
Dude is excited about being a Webelos for the first time. They are the oldest Cubs and get the most responsibility (only Webelos can carry the flags) So far we know there will be:
Trip to Aw shucks (you know I managed to get that on the same day as GS right?)
Webloree and Camporee
Veterans Day parade
Class at Reedy Creek
Holiday Service project
God and Country class
Pinewood Derby
Blue and gold banquet
Scout Sunday and Scouting for food
two Spring camps
June Lock in
Summer Webelos resident camp
July Bike rodeo
August Rain gutter regatta
and prolly more.
Robotics Wedos: Dude is super excited for this chance to work with programing and building robots. I still don't know much about it, but since I don't have to do any of the planning purchasing or preparing I love this activity!
Art class: Princess has a chance to take a once a week art class. I am slightly afraid it wont offer more than she already knows but at the very least it will be a chance for her to experiment with other kids and of course practice.
Crafting class: Little Man and Princess love crafting so we are sending them off to have some messy fun..at someone else's house. Always good to leave the mess elsewhere. And even better I don't have to clean my house before the fun.
Co-Op: Even though I am apparently in charge of this co-op it is actually shaping up to be really easy. A bit of paperwork (why do I keep getting into paperwork, when I am so unorganized?) . Anyway this year there will be science fun (again with the mess somewhere else), Music with our own awesome music teacher, and a rotating class. Prolly will begin with Public speaking, then Dance, and we still have to decide on two topics for 2011.
Piano lessons: We are very blessed to have an awesome teacher for a good price (often barter for computer help). Dude is the only one taking lessons right now. Princess wants to learn recorder, so Daddy is going to work on it with her. If she really wants to pursue it then we will look into a wonderful teacher we know.
Anything else? We are also working on a lot more field trips, learning which places are free. Considering a sewing opportunity for Princess, and several Lego clubs. Of course if we had the money we would also do swimming lessons.
