I have wanted to let the kids start a moon journal for several months. I finally dumped all my 'what if I don't do it right' fears and sent Princess outside to draw the moon tonight.
She couldn't find it.
Great, either it is a new moon, hasn't risen yet, or she skipped the one spot in the sky you could see it for.
No matter I am going to do my best to send her out tomorrow, and each night after hopefully one night she will see it.
Of course one of the reasons I knew I was doing it all wrong was that Dude couldn't join in. He had a scout thing tonight.
I did peek around at Youtube to see what sort of interesting videos we could find. I have sincere plans of replaying them for Dude next week. (the rest of the evenings this week are pretty booked.
Ask an astronomer - why does the moon look like it changes?
Bill Nye the Science guy - intro on the Moon
Part 3 - I really couldn't find part 2
So all 2 of you readers, remind me next Monday to play the videos at bedtime (and send the kids out to look for the moon!)
