Origami fun

I thought about doing oragaami along with our study of flowers, but most flower oragami looked very hard for my kids.  Especailly my not so artistic oldest.

Well actually I got the idea after seeing this site of amazingly talented origami.  Then  there was the self folding paper...

but eventually I went looking for stuff we could do.

I did finally find a simple rose tutorial.

Unfortunately I didn't have any origami paper, nor did I have a decent color for a rose.  But after a few attempts Dude managed a serviceable flower.

Princess didn't have that much better luck in spite of her natural talent.






We also tried 'storigami' from this neat site.  With better results.  Not only were the folds easier, the story made it more fun.

Of course we didn't have paper that was white on one side and black on the other, so we kinda faked it by coloring the paper before we folded it.



I think I will put Oragami paper on my wish list, then we can try more stories.
