oba isa

After reading about DaVinchi we took a peek at some of his art.

Princess really wanted to draw the Mona Lisa so I brought it up on screen  

We talked about the 'fuzzy trees' behind her (Little Man's words) and how there were so many cracks.  I suggested they were from time, and that DaVinchi didn't paint it all cracked.  I am pretty sure he didn't paint a green line above her head either!

The kids later wanted to draw their own versions.  

Princess was very careful to start with a sketch of the basics, then she went back and filled in the colors.  She was a little annoyed that the background black and hair were the same color and blended together.  I suggested she needed more colors for different shades of brown and black.

Apparently Little Man thought Mona Lisa would be better in orange.  Oh and guess those 'fuzzy trees' weren't important enough to include.

Baby girl didn't want to draw.  Oh and she can't say M's or L's yet; hence the title 'Oba isa'.
