First song

This week Dude is at music camp.  Little Man and Princess are too young to go, but are both very interested in music.  So we spent a bit of time looking around the web for some music info.  That's where the flashcard site came from.

I also took some blank music sheets and put a few notes on it for them to decipher.  I made words like 'BAG' or  'ADD'.

Then I found this website with 'lessons'.  Not sure how long they will last but for now, the kids enjoy the little

Today they asked to goof off with the flashcards again.  After a short while I insisted I get my computer back and they go away.  Both of them went to make their own song!




Even though Little Man has been working on note names and we've read about staffs. He just put 'notes' on the paper with words.  Princess told him to make his notes with straight lines not use giant 6s.

Princess went to all the trouble to make a staff with treble clef and everything.

Then she tried to play it on the keyboard.  Only she picked three random black keys to use.  Guess knowing the names of notes and all isn't quite the same as being a musician!
