Electric month is ending

Today was the last day to work on electricity in the co-op. We built an Electromagnet. I would love to revisit this, when the kids are a bit older, and build one of these! but alas this month it just didn't fit.

We did manage to cover circuits, I even think all the kids know you need to complete one to get electricity to light a light. Not sure if that translates to real understanding, but we tried.

We used two old electronic kits to give the kids chances to play with lights and sound (made a lovely siren one day). I am not looking forward to Dude trying to repeat that at home!

Wonder what sort of science next month will bring?

  1. Way back when, I worked for Time Temperature Instruments, which built a gadget which used magnetic levitation to support one steel cylinder above another, at a fixed distance.
