We bought Dude a Rubix cube of his own for Christmas, mostly because I wanted him to stop fiddling with mine. Not that I mind sharing, just, well when you see him spending an hour working on it; I just couldn't mess with it myself and ruin what he had done.
Once he had his own he was able to follow the hints it came with and get all but the last layer solved multiple times. The last step always seemed to trip him up. I tried a couple times and failed, Daddy tried once or twice, with no luck. We decided to check some other hints out online, turns out you can find turn by turn instructions that don't even ask you to think between them at all! We didn't need that much help but we did sit down with Dan Brown. We both had our cubes, and were trying to follow his directions, 30 minutes later Dude had his cube solved. Not me, I still had a jumble. Don't you worry I ignored my chores for another 30 minutes after kids were in bed just so I could finish!
Come to think of it, those chores might still need done - BUT I have a completed cube sitting here on my desk! Dude on the other hand has a jumble again, he decided once wasn't enough.
