What my child is reading, or drawing

I requested several drawing books from the library.  Princess was rather fond of 'Jill Bays Drawing Workbook, A Complete Course in Ten Lessons".  I was hoping to find something I could use for art lessons with all the kids, and some of it could be.

The ten lessons cover topics such as 'tone' or 'colour' (yes spelled the British way).   Each lesson has lots of useful information, and plenty of hints tips and tricks.  Unfortunately each lesson would take well over an hour.  Fine for older kids, but a bit too long to ask of my boys.

Princess has been reading it quite a bit, and today decided to test her drawing skills.

The book version is on the left, Princess on the right.  Sadly lined paper doesn't show up well on a camera, especially by an inexperienced photographer.

I think she did a rather good job, quite glad I borrowed the book, even if I still don't know what I am doing for art this week.
