Reorganizing the house

We have a small house, and WAY to much stuff in it.

I finally sat down with the girls and reorganized their room, tossed a bag full each  of toys and clothes.  And now I really need to do the boys room, and my room, and the living room, and hey how about the kitchen?

I work better in a cleanish mostly organised environment, I have known this for a long time.

So why is it so hard for me to keep the place cleanish and organized?

Part of the trouble is the sheer amount of time it takes to do anything around here.

One quick 5 minute bathroom touch up takes 3 times as long once you add in taking the baby with you, changing her diaper, helping the 3 year old, and stopping along the way to redirect the older children who of course forgot their own simple tasks.

And another trouble is my own lazyness.  Plain and simple I am lazy, I have an inner child who longs to lounge in PJs and eat bon bons all day.  She is quite the brat.

Some days I do rather well and we muddle along, but at no time do I manage enough good days to make up for all the rest!

How am I supposed to teach my kids a good work ethic when I alternate between being forced to sit down (baby) and lounging because I want to.
