For awhile there I was reading to the children over most meals. I eat fast, and they being typical kids, don't. (though no one is as slow as Daddy!) It was a nice simple time, they were all contained and had something to occupy their hands. (the food and drink)
Then over the past week or two I started not to have that time, nothing from the AO list was getting read. Where did my time go?
I grabbed a book on my way to Lunch one day, and....
Then it hit me. Little One was eating spoon food. So in-between eating my own food and reading, I had to feed her. Preferably the same food I was eating as she tends to notice and complain if it is different.
I officially decided that day not to try and read any more stories at lunch time.
I also officially decided not to spend an ounce of time reading any books I did not love. If I have so little time the words must be worth it!
Wish I could come read to them at lunch!! I read at breakfast and Steve reads at lunch so we get two books in. Right now I am doing Box car children and he is doing Narnia.
