I checked this guys pile of educational videos out awhile back, but never got into it much. Recently Dude has needed more info on Astronomy for his Science Olympiad 'Sky Quest' so I clicked on back over. (actually my father reminded me)
I am not sure if or when the videos will be 'to old' for Dude, so far we only watched the 2 'Scale' videos. All of the kids find them interesting, though they are in 'lecture' format, no fancy music or flashing graphics. I had both husband and all children riveted to the screen, so the info might make up for it.
We also checked out a few of the math Lectures. The information is good, but the kids were more interested in the guys 'white board' program. I kept hearing 'How did he write that?'. I think Dude would be helped by a review of Algebra concepts, but I am not sure where to start, the beginning is too basic, so how far to jump? Do I really want to watch a ton to find the right spot?
I know there are math problems on the website to review the concepts he taught, Dude never really liked them, which I thought odd since Dude loves computers. Maybe we will try again this year.
We will definitely be back for more on space, and I might explore other topics as well.
