Apple cobbler

Ok so here is the super simple Apple Cobbler recipe.

Remember, all amounts are approximate, sugar means brown sugar, flour means whole wheat flour.

Apple Stuff- adapted from multiple sources most recently Heavenly Homemakers
umm apparently this is a crisp, not a cobbler, I really have no idea the difference.

Cut up a bunch of apples into bite sized chunks, (enough to cover the bottom of every pan you have to try and make enough for 3 dozen desserts at church, run out after a 9*13, 8*8, and a round 8inch , give up on all apple crisp, and plan to make pumpkin cookies later.)

Slice up a stick of butter to share over all.....about 3 pats butter each pan, 4 for the large on.

Sprinkle cinnamon over top - I think.  You see I intended to do this, but was debating on if it would be good or not.  I really am not sure what the final decision was.

Sprinkle sugar on top?  No prolly not.  I was thinking of doing so since the food was for company and I usually like to make things sweeter for them, but then I think I decided the topping would be sweet enough.  I think.

Bake in 350 oven (or was it 400) until apples are fairly soft and cooked.  (long enough to change a diaper, take a toddler potty, shoo some kids out and or into the shower, and make the topping)

Yummy Topping
Mix up:
3 cups oatmeal
1 and 1/2 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar (remember this was for company)
some cinnamon (I dunno how much, tsp maybe?)
pour over the dry stuff 2 sticks melted butter (a cup?)

Stir it all up.  Wait till the apples smell perfect  share topping amongst all the pans of apples relatively evenly.

Bake till you have the pumpkin cookies all ready to bake and you need room in the oven (and have quickly  nursed a baby. oh and chased the rest of the kids in and out of the shower)

There told you it was easy!

  1. This was a cute post and I think I will give it a try. Minus the nursing baby. :(

  2. Sounds good. We used to make this. Cobbler would have a biscuit type topping.
