Nature study - Dinosaurs

I am sure Dinosaurs would not be on the early nature study list for Charlotte Mason, but alas, my kids like 'em.  And they happen to be pretty natural.  They just don't happen to be in my backyard.

Which since I don't really have flowers here or even too many mammals, I am not so worried about only studying what we can find close by.  There is only so much time one can study dirt (well sandy rocks) and grass.

We found a wonderful how to draw book by Ralph Masiello  And it set the kids off into days on end drawing and redrawing dinosaurs and dino scenes.  Little Man was most struck by the fever.

I hope you can open this photo up bigger to see how much work he put into drawing the dinos; before he covered them all up in crayon.

Princess enjoyed the fun as well, but quickly reverted to drawing girls and cute puppies, or bunnies.

Dude made one dino, one set of eggs (no idea where it ended up-though it was actually quite good) and then went back to creating games.  Or so he calls them.  I call them endless strings of numbers and misspelled names.

BTW we also read lots more dino books.
