I need a fancy computer program..for free of course

While debating over what sort of plans I wanted to make for the next few months I was struck by how ridiculously impossible it is to be organized with 5 kids, a dozen subjects, 6 days in a week (Sunday doesn't really count), 24 hours in a day, and half a dozen outside commitments.

I am not sure how other homeschoolers do it, but I would love a computer program that would organize and sort all my plans.

It would be so nice to input everything for all the kids then click 'language arts', or 'math' and find a nice neat spreadsheet of all the different plans for all the kids.  Of course a handy weekly overview, that could easily expand to show what was needed for each day.  And more importantly an super easy drag and drop feature to move around subjects.

Like composer, we spend a whooping 10 minutes (if) talking about one most weeks.  The particular day where my baby (7 week old) and Baby girl (2 year old) and outside commitments all coordinate to make it easy to do...well that I can't plan in advance.

I need a chart that shows what has been done for the week, what needs to be done, and what each kid is working on.  Preferably all on the computer with very easy and quick interface.  My reading checklist on this site is only really good for AO books.  I wonder if I could add to it for other stuff?  but that wouldn't be by kid.  I want to be able to click 'Little Man' and see just his todo list.  Even with the limited planning I do there still would be too many items in each place.

hmm somehow something will have to work...

  1. That language arts site you sent me(language pathways) has a planner and places to enter students by name and be organized. I have not done it yet but saw it there. If you log in(you use facebook to log in so you do not have to sign up). Maybe that will help you. Also I found a site that is cool. It is not really for listing student info but it is for you to make to do lists, grocery lists, etc. It is http://cozicentral.cozi.com/homepage/

    Hope these help

  2. I checked out the Pathways one, it only has space for their lessons that I saw. I will have to check the list one out. Thanks for the ideas!

  4. There are a bunch of planners online for you to print out but nothing really to work with online. The ones I have found to use online are for one student at a time and are more for college students.
