This simple pegboard fro, Discovery Toys was our first toy ever. My oldest played with this same board. Actually there is a good chance I played with it as a kid. Not certain of that though.
All of my children have been fascinated by the fact that the pegs fit on their fingers. Eventually we learn to sort by color. I have two children very focused on order, two who don't care. My 'order loving' ones sorted on their own automatically, the other two waited for my suggestion.
(the 5th, at 5 weeks, has yet to show an opinion one way or the other)
Building tall towers is of course fun. We like to count how many pegs are in each tower. Baby Girl loves using her fingers to show how many she has. None of my other children ever used their fingers this early. Every kid is different!
Once my kids can tell colors fairly well, we like to make patterns. Baby girl isn't very good at them yet so we make it easier with 'taking turns'. First I put one on, then her. I only have red pegs, she only has purple. eventually we will move on to more difficult patterns

| Of course with multiple towers we get to have size comparisons. Here, Little Man's tower is shorter |

| Once you build the tallest tower the fun is in watching it fall! |
Sigh, have had tons of trouble getting the blog words next to the pictures...But I give up.
Ok, so I didn't get to a million, but I am sure there are tons more ways we could play with the peg board.
