Link round up July 17th, 2010

Well I sure have been around this week.  Can't help it, with a baby nursing so much I have a lot of sitting down time, and been getting lazy about one handed typing in my old age.  I particularly enjoyed the BBC history this week, and the parenting articles.

Educational

Catapult directions -I have the wood and supplies!  Look for post with photos of ours next week :)

Its vs It's - I can never get these straight!

Sorting game on KOL - offers Venn diagram type sorting, though if you just do it straight it doesn't complain

Worst jobs in history - middle ages - oh gross, So glad for modern medicine! (part 1 of 6)

Easy bracelet -very easy for Princess to churn out one in less than 15 minutes, directions quite simple

History of math - ancient homework (part 3 of 6, 1 and 2 were about Egyptian math)

Impressionists -EP 1 history from BBC, they do show much of the art, and not all art of that time was clothed

Political

Boing guy on DIY and Unschooling - Decent way of putting unschooling

Fifth grader debunks Keynesian  - That would be the economic theory that govt taking your money to then spend frivolously is better than letting you keep it to spend as you see fit.

Myth of the Teenager - Teens are a modern invention

A republic if you can keep it - methinks we failed to keep it

Belgium considers 'resomation' -ew? Really I so want memorial gardens, with wooden boxes, not plastic

Keep your hands of my salt! - honestly can no one take responsibility for themselves?  Doesn't death my salt deserve a Darwn award instead of more regulation?

Heh - political cartoon on 'illegals'

Johnny can't add- LewRockwell, not the most PC article

Misc

Get rid of the lawn - Really get rid of it, grass is so overrated.

Drowning bugs -religious advice

Expendables - sigh, no we didn't see it yet.

Safety first - isn't always best
