A blog I follow, that is often centered around healthy eating and living, has a weekly Gratui-Tuesday event. The author of the blog writes about something she is truly grateful for, and encourages other blogs to do the same. Her blog has a link program where everyones link can be in the body of the blog for all to see.
Anyway, I thought it was a wonderful idea, but I am very busy on Tuesdays (piano, library, co-op GS and CS) I don't even have time to play my Facebook games!
So here is my entry, a day early.
I am grateful for amazing friends! This weekend I went camping with the GS and Being 6 months pregnant effected me much more than I thought it would!
I knew it would be a lot of walking, what I forgot was how many rarely used muscles I was going to use waddling all over the place! I know 6 months is early to waddle, but being my 5th kid I think I started waddling at about 6 weeks! Anyway walking uses differnt muscles, ones that generally get a lot of work when non pregnant.
Back to my wonderful friends, first there were plenty of offers for rides, anyone in a car was willing to ride me where I needed to go. Though of course being a camp, the cars are only used for drop off and pick up. Then of course I had to leave the group to head to the bathroom more often than anyone else. Thankfully the other leaders were so willing to deal with me being absent! (And my insisting we head in the direction of a bathroom for our hike!)
And of course there was the wonderful fact that my troop leader and assistant walked back to the camp for snack letting me sit on my tush and watch the other leader organize a game.
While at the campsite, Cadettes (older GS) and my daughter were often sent to 'fetch' for me across the way. You have no idea how far 20 feet is when you are 6 months pregnant and have already taken two long hikes in one day! My daughter of course is used to it (her patience with me is another thing to be thankful for!), but the Cadettes only thought they were signing up for a few demonstrations and a fire ceremony. The youngest one of them was especially helpful to me.
And the last day as I walked the girls back to the front to meet their parents, the Cadettes made me stop, get in their leaders car, and they walked the long way with the girls! (The other leaders had the girls who were being picked up at the site)
Everyone was super willing to help me be a lazy pregnant woman! I could never camp without such wonderful folk to help me.
