We have looked at Chopin's work before, but it came around again in the AO rotation so I figured a month wouldn't kill me.
I may have been wrong.
The only Chopin song, I have heard, that I like is This. (the last 20 seconds are an ad for their work)
The rest of Chopin's work varies from 'meh' to 'oh please make it stop'.
Either I am finding uninspiring piano players on youtube, or else I am just plain totally out of step with what is considered good classical music.
My children on the other hand seem to like him. I try to keep my negative opinions to myself.
I thought it was interesting to read of his feminist girl friend. So long ago, and yet still some women insisted on tossing aside the social mores and wearing pants. (The cigars were prolly not good for her - or sickly Chopin!)
