Baby talk

Little One is still kinda little, but growing so fast, and learning so much.  Officially 4.5 months and 14lb.

Right now she is constantly trying to steal my food and my drinks.  We have started her on some solids (sweet potato, applesauce, etc), though I  don't think she is quite ready for chocolate (thank goodness, I have enough kids to try and hide it from already!)  She surprised us by figuring out eating from a spoon first try. (though still messy)

She spends a lot of time playing with her mouth and tongue.  And of course putting anything she can get her claws on in her mouth.

When I am willing to change clothes (hers or mine!) I let her try my water, her face is adorable when she gets a drink!  Though usually it is a mini drenching. (though still adorable)

She can roll, both front to back and back to front though she rarely bothers.  In general she is very contented.

Recently she has been getting up on all fours in the classic 'crawl' stance though she isn't really doing anything with it.

For several weeks she has been getting up on her toes and hands and pushing backwards, she is starting to get quite frustrated at going backwards instead of forward.

Sound-wise she is mostly sticking with vowels, lots of giggles,  and the occasional soft 'agoo' or 'bblll' or 'mm'.  The sound of her claws on my chair or other items is pretty cool too.

Most days she will pee in the potty a couple times, but so far no signal to let me know she needs one.

Wednesday nights I get to stay home with her and Baby Girl, so we get a special 'little kid evening.  Which doesn't quite make up for Scout nights when I pass the kids away and don't see them at all.

  1. Wish I was the one getting them passed too! She is so young to be doing so much!! Guess she is rarin to go catch up to the big ones!

  2. If you want to help her to talk quicker, then repeat those vowel sounds back to her and start a "conversation". I posted a great Youtube video on my Facebook page, showing a dad doing it brilliantly.
