Well this award for Versatile Blogger comes from 'Mom's Mustard Seeds' A really interesting blog I just found this week. I am all giddy with happiness, check it out my little babbling blog gets an award!
The rules are:
- Thank and link back to whomever gave you the award.
- Share 7 things about yourself
- Pass it along to 15 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy
- Leave your recipients a note telling them about the award.
Wow...The first is easy (Did I remember to Thank you?.....I will.)
Seven things about me...you might not realize but that is kinda hard.
- I am a mother of 5, and I have no idea what I am doing, the more kids I have the more I realize how little I know! (especially when it comes to fractals and neurons)
- I hate cooking, really, really hate cooking, on the other hand I love, love baking. Just can't stand the dishes I have to wash after. (oh and I never follow the recipe)
- I live in the suburbs, but the back yard faces a 'green belt'. Guaranteed by state to stay green (till they decide to change their minds, but so far so good). I grew up mostly in the city, so all this nature so close is both wonderful and weird.
- I was homeschooled as a kid up to 8th grade. I learned all the important academic stuff before then and drifted through 5 different schools learning all about each 'mass education' style. I bet there are some surprises out there, but I certainly managed a good sampling.
- Oddly enough I was thinking of going into mathematics out of high school. It is still my favorite subject. I think my kids education is a bit biased because of my love. Those who know I cannot remember a number to save my life, and I can't handle place value might be a bit surprised that I considered a career in math. My son who knows he is faster at math than I would think me an idiot to head into math for a living!
- I hate diapers so much I potty train my kids super early. Some call it EC, but since I have never been a good communicator (I don't even know which cry is which) I just call it early training. (Yes my Little One can and does pee in the potty frequently)
- I am pretty eclectic. Aside from reading I enjoy lots of movies. One of which is where the "Did I thank you yet? I will" comes from.
Ok now to pass this award on. I follow several Blogs that I love checking up on. But not quite 15. I am pretty new to the whole blogger world, though I have had a finance blog for years, this one is a 'baby' so to speak. So in no particular order here are several worthy blogs......(sorry it isn't 15)
- Almost Unschoolers - great place for fun activities with the kids, cooking, crafting, nature and science
- Children Grow, Children Learn -adorable updates on pre-K fun.
- Love2Learn2Day - I love love love her photo bar across the top (neat info often as well)
- The homeschool Apologist - Many well written articles on why to homeschool
- Mouse Grows, Mouse learns - love her reading link up on Saturday
- Heavenly Homemakers - all sorts of healthy eating info, plus some homeschool stuff
- All things Beautiful - lots of nature history and fun.
- Playborhood - I don't follow this one as much as I would like, Also I rarely play in my yard, terrible
I do read a few others worth a mention, but they are not versitile.
- Adventures of an avid reader - reviews young adult books
- Karen's History Projcet - rarely posts, but when she does it is a very good history resource
- Handbook of nature study - frequent info on nature, I really need a kick outside
THANKS

First let me say congrats on the award, you DO deserve it! Thank you for giving this award to me. I will pass it on and post my information as soon as I think of what I want to share, and who I want to pass this on to.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading through your list of seven things. And, thanks for the award. I've fallen terribly, terribly behind in accepting awards - but I appreciate getting them, all the same. How is it that I'm not a follower here yet? I'll rectify that immediately :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for giving me an award! I really enjoyed reading about you and your schooling odyssey. I am not surprised by your successes in early potty training - in my country it was pretty much the norm before the arrival of disposable diapers :)
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome and deserve the award!! Not to mention a whole lot more!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!! ;)
