Yes we are really taking most of this week off to clean the house. A super deep 'spring cleaning' (which is really more of a 'mom is 9 months pregnant just do whatever she says and it will all pass soon cleaning')
So what about education? This week just might contain more useful education than anything we have done in the past year!
I was having a conversation with a wonderful woman the other day, she mentioned her husband told her 'your bathroom wall is dirty'......I hope most of you know the correct response is to hand him a cleaning rag and point him right back to the bathroom! (with or without a scathing commentary) Would you ever say that to a friend? Unless you caused the mess and are actually asking for cleaning supplies, keep your comments of the mess to yourself.
I often hear of other women lamenting their husbands lack of cleaning skills, except for a few neat nick couples (I have a few less polite words to describe you folk - but I try to be nice). Most married women I know have a horrible time getting their men to step up and help out. And not all because the men are rotten. Mostly because when you ask a fellow to clean a room, he just doesn't know what that means. It is kinda like asking an 8 year old. They may be willing (grumbling but willing) but they really don't have the skills.
So this week is training for adulthood and marriage. All the kids get to learn a bit about cleaning, and teaching my own husband a thing or two is an added bonus (though after 10 years he really does quiet well.)
