Wrapping up India and Spain

WTD is over, the girls had a great time, and might have even learned something.

Princess was rather fascinated by the flamenco dancing. We spent several days sitting at the computer looking for new videos of dancers. Yet she is still to shy to dance!

We reviewed some Spanish words for the month, and replayed some of our youtube songs, as well as reading folk tales, and geography books.

India received much more interest from all the children. Apparently the country is shaped like an elephant ear! We just happened to find a free zoobies book about elephants this month so even Baby Girl joined in the learning.

After listening to the music from youtube for the whole month, and practicing a few words each week, the kids know nothing in Hindi but 'Namaste' which is a greeting.

Princess did recall the sari, "They wear it over a light shirt and thin skirt because it is hot." Though an article of clothing doesn't count as a foreign word in my book.

They all loved studying the Taj Mahal, They drew amazing versions without a copy of a photo! We were really impressed by how well they remembered all the parts.

The kids favorite part of the studies was a game called 'kabaddi'. The kids obviously did not play a full version, which is good, the idea of holding their breath while tagging others was too much for most of the kids! Regardless they had a great time. And learned a bit.
